The Smell of Pelleas and Melisande

This project by drama Pelleas and Melisande as the whole script frame,Frederic Malle‘s five perfume as script analysis are used to create a show for people where they can literally hear the perfume, smell it, and touch it. It brings people immersive product experience diversified cross-border integration and break out the traditional theater performance and exhibition model.
Section 01 'BALANCE'
PORTRAIT OF A LADY
At the fore, an exuberant dose of Turkish rose — 400 flowers per 100ml bottle, no less. Beneath, a bed of patchouli heart imbued with sandalwood and frankincense. "The collision of patchouli and Rose was like the mighty Golaud falling in love with Melisande at first sight.
Section 02 'PROTECTION'
ANGELIQUES SOUS LA PLUIE
A watercolor sketch of angelica flowers tinted with spots of juniper berries, pink pepper and bergamot, on a vibrant base of cedar and white musk. As Pelleas stood behind to protect Melisande, the spark of love crept in.
Section 03 'RESISTANCE'
VETIVER EXTRAORDINAIRE
An unprecedented dose of Haitian vetiver woven with sandalwood, cedar . Bound to the skin by oak moss and musk, and lifted by pink pepper, and bitter orange in a whiff of captivating freshness.Three different spices are like three characters fighting against each other.
Section 04 'EXPLOSION'
MUSC RAVAGEUR
Musc Ravageur enhances the magnetic aspect of musk with amber, vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood, at the total exclusion of floral notes.The relationship between the three reached its climax when Golaud killed Pelleas
Section 05 'ELAPSE'
MUSIC FOR A WHILE
A sensuous body of lavender is warmed by patchouli, amber and vanilla, and transformed by notes of pineapple and mandarin ,it just like Melisande's life slowly passed away until she died.
